RRO AWARDS RACE 2010 Stage 2 - NOMINATE NOW!! 5th Annual RRO Awards!!

----Stage 2!!

----RRO AWARDS RACE 2009 continues. The first 6 categories have been closed for nominations. I have listed the next 6 categories in this year’s race, which many consider the most important ones. If you are a member of the KAYFABE MESSSAGE BOARD, then you may click over and put all your nominations there. Or you may e-mail your picks, if you do not want to post them “in the open” on the board. Send your nominations in ASAP. PLEASE PICK 3 NOMINEES for each category!!! Send your e-mail to rroawardsrace@rasslinriotonline.com with subject: RRO Nominees. Deadline for these 6 awards is Wednesday December 22, 2010. Below my picks and thoughts.

----I want to make a quick note here to say that I am going to pick my nominees this year totally different in the top four categories - I will not pick one act or performer for both awards.
----Wrestler: This really has to be the hardest year to pick, since the start of the site. I can only think of a few guys that “stand out”. This award is not always the best worker, but mainly goes to the guy that is making the biggest impact.I honestly can not pick one guy that has stood out during the whole time.  I put over Matt Riveria for this award at the 1/3 mark, but he has not seen as much without RCW TV.  Derrick King works so many dates and just being newsworthy in local promotions.  Austin Lane would also be considered with him being in the news and continuing to have good matches. He also branched out a bit this year. Lane is also the guy that has won almost every major award here at RRO, but has never won the BIG one.  My top pick would be Lane and it should be the year that he wins.   I would considered Greg Anthony, Jon Michael Worthington [health problems and battled back to wrestle and book EWE] and Christian Jacobs also for their EWE/RCW work.  My nominees:  Austin Lane, Derrick King and Jon Michael.

----MVP Performer - This has nothing to do with impact or drawing power – just what worker performs the best night after night. I have a long list of guys here and that is a good thing. Nothing has much changed in this category.  There are a lot of guys that are just performing at high levels. Pokerface, Christian Jacobs, Derrick King, Eric Wayne, Austin Lane, Greg Anthony, Stan Lee, Jon Michael Worthington, Seth Knight and Alan Steele. My nominees: Greg Anthony, Christian Jacobs and Pokerface.

----Tag Team – “Asylum” [Psycho/Pappy] should always been mentioned here and really deserve to win it.  I honestly believe it is their year, because of them continuing to work major promotions and being over. They are probably the only true tag team left in the area. “Premiere Brutality” [Kid Nikels/Eric Wayne] made an impact on Memphis Wrestling and everywhere they tag, but really don't tag as much as Psycho/Pappy. "Derrick King Enterprises" [Derrick King/Drew Haskins/Sista O’Feelyah] work mainly in Nashville, but should be considering - being a regular top tag team all the year. "Too Cruel" [Brian Christopher/Wolfie D] were one of my favorites, but did not see much action. “Midnight Gold” [Greg Anthony/Bobby Eaton] have probably been featured in more angles, matches and such this year than last year, but the team is pretty much done.  “LSD” [Cody Only/Idol Bane/Deadly Dale] should also be considered.  My nominees: "Asylum", "Derrick King Enterprises" and "Too Cruel".

----MVP Tag Team – Hardest working team??  Only two teams come to mind – “Devils Reject/East Coast Bad Boys" and Kid Nikels/Eric Wayne. Nikels/Wayne get my main nod here, because they have worked more as a team and are hard working.  "Picture Perfect" actually worked more in Nashville area as a team, but should be considered here. The team of Chris O'Neal and Stan Lee also were good, but did not tag that much. "Gold" also because they did headline some big shows. My nominees: Nikels/Wayne, ECBB/DR and "Picture Perfect".

----Rookie of The Year –This award goes to someone that worked at least 26 dates in their first year of wrestling.  The top ones that come to mind are Dan Matthews, Kevin Charles, Moe Stegall and Blaine Devine.  Devine was the ballot last year, but got stuck between both years and might get a nod.  My nominees: Dan Matthews, Moe Stegall and Blaine Devine.

----Spot Moondog Brawler of the Year Award. This will be our second year to present this award and I would like to see someone new win it, even though Psycho still does more hardcore than anyone. This award has been given a stamp of approval by the family of Spot Moondog.  My first two picks are also guys that have been hardcore in this area for years and deserve the nod. My nominees: Motley Cruz, Ron Rage and Adrian Stratton. [two of the craziest hardcore bouts I witnessed this year was with him]
